The United Arab Emirates has officially announced a paid holiday for the private sector to mark Eid Al Etihad, also known as the UAE National Day. According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the holiday will be observed on Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2, 2025. This marks the 54th celebration of Eid Al Etihad.
The announcement, made by MoHRE, follows a Cabinet decision regarding approved official holidays for both the government and private sectors. The holiday will allow employees across the UAE to join in the National Day festivities, in line with the country’s annual tradition.
Holiday Dates and Work Resumption
In a circular, the MoHRE extended warm congratulations to the UAE’s leadership and citizens, as well as to all residents in the country. The holiday will extend the weekend to a four-day break, as Friday and Saturday are regular weekend days. Work will resume on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
This follows an earlier announcement from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), which also confirmed that federal ministry employees will observe the same holiday.
