LG Electronics is strategically expanding its Middle East B2G business. This growth is driven by a new partnership with Expo City Dubai. The agreement strengthens LG’s role as a provider of sustainable, high-tech solutions. Consequently, the company is shifting from a product vendor to a comprehensive government solutions partner.

The partnership was formalized by senior executives from both organizations. This collaboration deepens LG’s existing relationship with the legacy city of the 2020 World Expo. Therefore, it positions LG at the forefront of the UAE’s ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.

A Multi-Faceted Partnership for a Smart City

The agreement with Expo City Dubai is comprehensive. For example, it goes beyond simply supplying products. Instead, it encompasses the integration of advanced, intelligent systems.

LG will contribute innovative infrastructure across several areas. These include AI data center cooling and smart home systems. Furthermore, the company will supply appliances for new residences. It will also provide integrated solutions like high-efficiency HVAC systems.

Strategic Growth Across the Region

The Expo City agreement is part of a broader regional push. LG is actively pursuing major government-driven projects. For instance, in Saudi Arabia, LG is supporting an AI data center in the NEOM gigaproject. This project represents a significant step in the company’s Middle East B2G business expansion.

Similarly, the company has signed a memorandum with ACWA Power and SHAKER Group. These partnerships aim to develop next-generation data centers. As a result, the revenue share from LG’s B2B and B2G sectors continues to rise. The company aims for its B2B division to constitute 45% of total revenue by 2030. For context on global smart city trends, resources from the Smart City Expo World Congress are invaluable.

The Foundation for Sustainable Development

LG’s strategy aligns with national visions in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The focus is on building sustainable and AI-powered cities.

William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics, emphasized this commitment. He stated the company will “accelerate efforts to capture new B2B and B2G opportunities.” Additionally, LG is collaborating with specialists like Schneider Electric. This partnership will develop integrated solutions for efficient living.

The expansion of LG’s Middle East B2G business marks a significant evolution. By leveraging its technological expertise, LG is becoming a key enabler of the region’s digital future.
