UAE Leads MENA in E-Commerce Growth in 2025

The UAE e-commerce market has taken the top spot in the Middle East and North Africa. Strong consumer spending and smarter buying habits continue to drive growth. A new report from Flowwow and Admitad confirms this trend.

Instead of relying only on more transactions, the UAE now grows through higher-value purchases. As a result, total online revenue is rising faster than order numbers.

UAE shoppers spend more online

In 2025, the UAE recorded the highest average order value in MENA. It reached more than double the regional average. This shows that shoppers now prefer quality and premium brands.

Moreover, customers place fewer but more valuable orders. Therefore, online stores earn more from each buyer.

Market growth beats the region

Gross merchandise value, also known as GMV, grew faster than the number of orders. This means people spent more, even when they shopped less often.

At the same time, digital platforms improved their product offerings. They also upgraded logistics and payment systems. Because of this, customer confidence increased across the UAE.

Smart shopping reshapes e-commerce

UAE consumers now research products before buying. They compare prices and read reviews. As a result, impulse purchases are declining.

However, planned spending is rising. Shoppers now choose trusted brands and reliable sellers. This shift benefits platforms that offer better service and fast delivery.

Technology supports digital growth

E-commerce companies in the UAE continue to invest in data, AI, and digital marketing. These tools help them understand customer behavior. They also allow better targeting and personalisation.

Because of these upgrades, online platforms convert more visitors into buyers.

UAE remains MENA’s digital leader

While other MENA markets are growing, none match the UAE’s level of maturity. Strong infrastructure, high income, and widespread internet access keep the country ahead.

In addition, businesses benefit from efficient payment systems and fast shipping. These factors support continued expansion.

Future outlook

The UAE e-commerce market is expected to keep growing. Higher consumer trust and rising purchasing power will support this trend.

More brands will also move online. Therefore, competition will increase. Yet, innovation will continue to improve the shopping experience.
