MIAMI — Newark-born singer-songwriter Jalil Lopez has announced the release of Metamorfosis, a deeply personal and genre-defying seven-track EP with a bonus cut, arriving September 5, 2025, via Redline Media Group (RMG). The project, which Lopez describes as his most vulnerable and transformative work to date, charts his path from heartbreak to healing through a fusion of classic Bachata, urban soul, and hip hop.
“This project is a reflection of everything I’ve lived through—what nearly broke me, what and who brought me back, and how I’ve grown through it all,” Lopez said. “It’s my truth, and I hope it allows me to connect with my fans all around the world in unique ways.”
A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation
Metamorfosis brings together some of Latin music’s most acclaimed talents. Collaborators include Andres Rios, three-time Latin Grammy nominee and 2024 Song of the Year winner, Jorge Milano, Lil’ Genuiz, and Alejandro “Mosty” Patiño, a four-time Latin Grammy winner. Their combined expertise adds depth and diversity to Lopez’s storytelling, blending soulful lyricism with cutting-edge production.
The EP explores universal themes of grief, redemption, resilience, and self-discovery. By weaving together Bachata’s timeless emotion with the raw honesty of urban rhythms, Lopez delivers a sound that resonates across cultures and generations.
Building on Global Success
Lopez enters this release on the heels of viral singles including “No Vas a Encontrar” (featuring RKM), “La Culpable,” and “Borracho y Loco.” His career, rooted in early hits such as “Princesa Mía” and “Tu Primer Amor,” has long showcased his willingness to experiment. Over the years, Lopez has collaborated with heavyweights like Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, cementing his reputation as a versatile voice in Latin and urban music.
A Turning Point in His Career
While Lopez has consistently embraced evolution, Metamorfosis stands as a defining moment. More than a collection of songs, the EP reflects his personal transformation—emerging stronger, more grounded, and more authentic. With every lyric and melody, Lopez underscores his growth as both an artist and individual, offering fans an honest portrait of struggle, healing, and triumph.
Metamorfosis will be available on all major streaming platforms starting Friday, September 5, 2025.
