Dubai Summer Surprises 2025 delivers its biggest-ever edition

September 9, 2025 | Dubai, UAE (The Arabian Wall Street)Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025 has concluded with record-breaking success, offering exceptional savings and thrilling experiences for residents and visitors. The 28th edition of the city’s leading interiors, shopping, and entertainment festival ran for 66 days, attracting hundreds of thousands of people to the emirate.

This year, DSS introduced three curated shopping seasonsSummer Holiday Offers, Great Dubai Summer Sale, and Back to School—each offering exclusive flash sales, limited-time offers, and spectacular prizes, setting new benchmarks for consumer spending. The Great Dubai Summer Sale alone generated over AED 150 million ($40 million) in consumer spending.

Record-breaking participation and consumer engagement

The festival attracted over 1,050 brands across more than 3,800 retail destinations, with sales and footfall increasing significantly. Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), commented: “DSS remains a cornerstone of Dubai’s seasonal tourism strategy, reinforcing our position as a global hub for retail, hospitality, and entertainment.”

The event also delivered a massive social impact, with over 1,200 winners taking home prizes worth AED 20 million, including luxury cars, cash, electronics, and scholarships.

Family-friendly fun and entertainment

DSS 2025 showcased a wealth of family-focused events, from Modesh World 2025, which featured over 112 attractions and 423 live shows, to innovative activations like the Modesh Splash Park and the Messi Experience. Shoppers also enjoyed 8 indoor mall runs, energizing both residents and visitors.

The Summer Restaurant Week brought 746 participating restaurants, offering curated menus, while 682 restaurants participated in the 10 Dirham Dish initiative, providing affordable dining options across the city.

Emirates Skywards also contributed by rewarding loyal members with 1 million Skywards Miles, boosting customer engagement.

Supporting local talent and future growth

Dubai’s retail and tourism sectors saw an influx of local collaborations, with “Designed in Saudi” products showcased alongside global brands. The festival also spotlighted Saudi talent through initiatives like the Future Stars Student Competition, supporting the next generation of interior designers.

Dr. Bernd van Linder, CEO of Commercial Bank of Dubai, remarked: “DSS has once again demonstrated the power of collaboration in energizing the retail and tourism sectors, driving economic growth, and showcasing Dubai’s dynamic retail landscape.”

This year’s DSS was supported by key sponsors and strategic partners such as Al-Futtaim Malls, Majid Al Futtaim, and Emirates Airline, with significant contributions from retailers, hospitality and entertainment sectors. The success of DSS 2025 underscores Dubai’s commitment to growth and innovation across all its sectors, aligning with the UAE’s Vision 2030 goals.
